What Is a Direct veneer?

Direct veneers, also known as direct composite veneers, are made from thin sheets of composite or tooth-colored resin.  These veneers are made according to the structure of your teeth and bonded to the front surface of your teeth to improve the shade, size, and shape of your teeth.

When are they needed?

Typically, there are two types of veneers Direct veneers and Indirect veneers. The advantage of direct veneers over indirect veneers is that they are less costly. If you have misaligned, crooked or inconsistently gags between the teeth, direct veneers are a better solution at a lesser cost. Our dental specialists recommend direct veneers if you want to aesthetically enhance the appearance of your teeth.

How It Is Done?

We at Al Mumtaz Dental Center will fit the direct veneers in two stages.
The first stage is the preparation stage. In this stage, our dentist will reshape your tooth by using a dental drill so that it is ready to accommodate the veneer. You will be given local anesthesia during this process. The reason why reshaping is required because it will make the fitted veneer look indistinguishable from the natural tooth. After the reshaping process, our dentists will take a measure of your teeth to mold the veneers accordingly.

The second stage involves the fitting process. Our dental specialist will fit the new veneers over your teeth to check whether they sit well. Our dentist will fix the veneer over your tooth by using dental cement. Curing light is used to speed up the hardening of the cement. The excess of dental cement is removed by our dentist during the last-minute polish.
